Summary
A glazed china-headed doll with moulded and painted facial features and moulded and painted black hair. (circa 1850). A stuffed cloth body, upper arms and upper legs, glazed china lower arms, hands, lower legs and feet. The latter are painted black to imitate shoes. Wearing a cream cotton dress with a red floral pattern, white cotton apron trimmed with lace, white muslin camisole trimmed with lace and a black velvet ribbon at the neck, and two black velvet ribbons running down the front. White cotton pantaloons trimmed with pin tucks and lace over white cotton drawers trimmed with lace. Also in the box is a cream cotton lawn under-skirt trimmed with black velvet ribbon; a cream cotton bonnet trimmed with lace and a short cream muslin apron trimmed with lace. Total number of items is 4.
