Summary
A wax shoulder portrait doll of Queen Victoria with brown hair wig fastened in plaited 'earphones', blue glass eyes with hair eyelashes, open mouth showing teeth and painted facial details. Wax arms and legs and cloth body. Traces of gold paint from Sceptre on right hand. Wearing some of her Coronation robes, these consist of a long maroon gown with gold coloured brocade and maroon velvet sleeves, sleeves trimmed with gold coloured trim, lace trim to edges of gown and maroon velvet and ribbon bows on shoulders; a white organdie dress with lace trim at neck, sleeves and hem and lace insert bands; gold coloured cord tie at waist; sleeveless white lawn petticoat with lace trim at neck, armholes and hem and with pintuck and broderie insert at hem; white flannel waist petticoat with tuck and embroidery at hem; white lawn drawers with pintucks and broderie trim; white satin slippers decorated with four lines of silver coloured braid. Doll wears two gold coloured half rings on left hand. Her crown consists of a metal frame covered with gold coloured braid and gold painted cardboard. These are decorated with false jewels, brilliants, red, blue and green. The cushion is made of blue velvet. Ermine trim to base. The sceptre consists of a gold coloured painted wooden staff decorated with gold coloured braid at both ends and wrapped around staff. The top end is surmounted by a gold coloured metal cross. The cross and top of the staff are decorated with brilliants and red and blue false jewels. There are several loose pieces from the regalia including a triangular piece of brilliants and a blue stone and three similar pieces atttached to gold coloured narrow braid.
