An oval half-length portrait of a woman, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, her dark hair in ringlets, falling on her left shoulder, wearing a grey dress with a blue scarf, wearing a pearl necklace and pendant pearl earring, against a mushroom coloured background. First wife of George Vernon.

Acquired from 10th Lord Vernon in lieu of death-duties after the death of Francis Lawrence William Venables-Vernon, 9th Lord Vernon (1889 -1963) and transferred to the National Trust in 1967 through the National Land Fund
