Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Called Colonel Vernon, possibly Edward Vernon by John Michael Wright (London 1617 - London 1694). An oval half-length portrait of a man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a breastplate over a buff-coloured jerkin with pink and white slashed sleeves to the shirt, and wearing a white cravat and long flowing wig.
Provenance
Vernon collection transferred to the Treasury in 1967 following death of 9th Lord Vernon, and transferred to The National Trust in 1967
