Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Rowland Holt (1723-1786) of Redgrave, Suffolk by John Downman, RA (Ruabon, North Wales, 1750 – Wrexham 1824). A three-quarter-length portrait of an elderly man, standing to right, his left hand resting on a stick, wearing Windsor (?) uniform. His niece was Mary, Countess Rothes, later Mrs Bennet Langton. The Stuart miniatures at Gunby Hall came from Mr Holt, to whom they had been presented by the Cardinal of York.

1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
