Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir William Massingberd, 2nd Bt (1650-1719), attributed to John Riley (London 1646 – London 1691), previously in the manner of Sir Godfrey Kneller (Lübeck 1646/9 - London 1723), 1670. A painted oval half-length portrait as a young man, to left, head facing, in brownish-red coat and long wig. Son of Sir Henry Massingberd, 1st Baronet. He married Elizabeth Wynn and was succeeded by his son William, third and last Baronet. He built the present Gunby Hall in 1700.

1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
