Oil painting on canvas, George Townshend, 4th Viscount, later 1st Marquess Townshend (1724-1807) by James Northcote, RA (Plymouth 1746 – London 1831), after Sir Joshua Reynolds PRA (Plympton 1723 - London 1792). A half-length portrait, in armour, with a mauve sash, holding a baton in his left hand.

The Earls of Enniskillen, Florence Court, by 1865; inventory no.32 (on small red-bordered paper label); removed from Florence Court by the 6th Earl & Countess in 1973; posthumous inventory of the effects of Nancy, Countess of Enniskillen at Kinloch House, Amulree, Perthshire, 22 December 1998, The Front Hall Middle Passageway, no.631; bought by the National Trust at Christie’s, 12 November 1999, lot 11.
