Summary
A pair of bottle coolers (seaux à liqueur), hard-paste porcelain, one of two, with entwined handles, painted with ‘deutsche Blumen’ (German flowers) in puce and green with swags at the rim, crossed swords in underglaze blue, Meissen, Germany, c. 1757-63. Note: Liqueur bottles are smaller than wine bottles, the shape was obsolete in the 19th century when they were used to hold pots of growing plants.
