Summary
One of two late 18th century metal railings from the Portico at Attingham Park. A straight black rod with two 'leaves' near the top and patera/medallion half way down, gilded, sheared off at base and sawn off at top. These rods show the appearance of the Portico railings prior to their restoration (re-bronzing and partial re-gilding) in Spring 2002.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
