Summary
Louis XV French mantel clock by Dupressoir of Paris, circa 1770. Waisted tulipwood case to circular ormolu face, two white enamel chapter rings, black Roman numerals. Fitted with decorative ormolu mounts, surmounted by a cockerel with outstretched wings. There is a seated cherub adorning the glazed door. The clock has a verge escapement movement. It is inscribed in black on the enamel face: DUPRESSOIR A PARIS.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
