Summary
Circular washbasin with slightly flared sides, everted scalloped rim and raised on foot ring. Transfer printed in underglaze blue with 'The British Flora' pattern, with various flowers, foliage and butterflies on a stippled ground. Part of a two-piece washbasin and ewer set. 19th century manufacture by John Meir & Son of Tunstall, Staffordshire.
Provenance
Miss Doreen Hunt collection (No.99). A gift to the National Trust from Miss Doreen Hunt, Bourne, Lincolnshire in May 1991.
