Summary
One of a pair of rectangular knife rests tapering to a concave well, with anthemion motif in relief to the ends. Transfer printed in underglaze blue with 'Wild Rose' pattern, white flowers against a background of blue foliage. Manufactured by Don Pottery of Swinton, Yorkshire, circa 1790 to 1893.
Provenance
Miss Doreen Hunt collection; ex Jamas (James?) S.Fox collection consisting exclusively only of Don and Brameld blue and white pottery. A gift to the National Trust from Miss Doreen Hunt, in May 1991.
