Summary
A woman's bodice, part of a day dress, made from a silk and cellulose blend in white with both a vertical and horizontal magenta stripe. The bodice is decorated around the neckline and the capped sleeve ends with white cotton lace in an abstract floral motif, with black velvet ribbon insertion around the neckline for adjustment and a ruffle on the front facing. The back is decorated with a very large bow in the same fabric, a later addition and of poor quality. It is fully lined in cream cotton and fastens centre front with a combination of hooks & eyes and press studs, intact. The bodice has been altered historically.
Provenance
Gift of Mrs Wilson.
