Summary
A woman's skirt, part of an ensemble, made from black grosgrain silk. Black silk grosgrain skirt with gathered panel forming bustle. Skirt is trimmed with a black cotton lace panel centre front and box pleats along front hem. Ribbed linen tape waistband with metal hook and eye fasteners. Pocket at proper right back. Unlined but hem faced with dark brown cotton fabric and hem edged with black wool herringbone tape. Brown cotton internal tapes to hold bustle. Handwritten on the inner cotton twill pocket lining, "McDonald-Tyler", the donor.
