A baby's christening cape made from cream grosgrain silk. The cape is constructed with a deep collar, a short over-cape and a long under-cape, all decorated with machine-embroidered Irish cream cotton lace in a floral motif as both edging and insertion, with bands of gathered cream silk satin. The hem of the under-cape is decorated with two tucks and feather stitch embroidery. The cape is fully lined in white silk and fastens centre front with four long cream silk satin ties, two on the collar and two on the lower yoke, intact.
