Summary
Oil painting on panel, An Unknown Man, aged 26 British (English) School, inscribed centre left: ÆTATIS SV 26 / 1604. A portrait of a young man almost half-length, turned slightly to the right, gazing at spectator, reddish short brown, red moustache and spade beard hair, wearing a white and grey spotted doublet edged with gold braid and gorget with large linen collar over.
Provenance
Bought and bequeathed by Sir Percy Malcolm Stewart (1871-1951) to the National Trust in and transferred to Montacute House, 1960 after the death of Lady Stewart
