Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady by British (English) School, circa 1700. A half-length portrait of a young woman, facing, gazing at the spectator, wearing a wrap-over white satin dress with a pink border, over a white chemise. The 1930 inventory attributes the painting to Faber (as labelled on the later dating frame) but this is now thought this may relate to a work previously in the frame and not the current work (see NT 593404).
