Full description
Many of the ceramics at Wallington bear a paper label printed with a 'W'. This may have been added to pieces in the early nineteenth century, which were acquired by Jane Badger-Weller, Lady Wilson, known as 'Dame Jane' (1749-1818), who was a collector based in London. Her collection was inherited through marriage and brought to Wallington, where it formed the Museum. It is a very unusual object for an English collection at this date to be so marked.
Provenance
Gift from Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan 3rd Bt
