Summary
Bottle or rosewater sprinkler, porcelain, of globular form with a double gourd tapering flared neck, after an Indian metalware form (see NT 1333858), made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, c. 1695-1710; decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, with alternating ogee panels in blue reserve with scrollwork, beneath bands of cracked ice design, and others in blue reserve, with suspended pendants from the mouth rim, decorated with a hatched band; base with a beribboned auspicious symbol of a pearl or jewel, one of the eight precious things.
