Summary
Cover to a jar, porcelain, of domed shape and octagonal section, broad flange with onion finial, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, China, 1680-1700; decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze polychrome enamels (wucai - famille verte), with eight vertical panels within red lines, painted with scenes of auspicious boys playing alternating with garden scenes, the rim with hatched band in iron-red.

This jar is from a workshop working towards the development of the famille-verte style or independent of it, but if the former may have been made in the 1680s.
