Oil painting on canvas, Robert Ramsay of Maxton (1761-1814) by William Yellowlees. A half-length portrait of a seated man, turned slightly to the right, looking slightly to the right. He wears a short powdered wig, a dark blue coat, buff waistcoat, white shirt and white stock. He is sitting in a highbacked red chair with arms. Dark background. Framed in a small giltwood frame with attached plaque ‘Robert Ramsey of Maxton. B. 1761- D 1814’. Hanging from chains.
