Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Barnyard Scene: a Cock attacking a Turkey to defend a Hen and her Chicks, attributed to Paul de Vos (Hulst 1591/2 or 1595 - Antwerp 1678). The composition is derived from other very similar compositions signed by de Vos. A cock and turkey fighting at the left; a hen in the centre perched on a basket, above a hen and chicks, a cottage in the right background. In a large giltwood frame. Purchased in 1822.
