Summary
Glass rectangular box (smaller than 533590) covered in white silk ribbon at all edges. Each corner has a silk bow with a pearl to the centre. Lined with quilted silk, stitched with diamond pattern and lined with silk ribbon with inlaid pearls. The box also contains; A small square note on white paper written in black ink ‘Caroline Lucy married Captain Paulett Lane Sept 2d 1859’. ‘Charlecote Park Warwick’ printed in red ink. A circular bridal wreath/headdress made from metal wire covered in green ribbon. Made up of lots of white silk flowers and green silk leaves, also features lots of closed buds. Slight trail of flowers that would hang at the back. A wedding favour in the form of a large white silk ribbon in a rosette, featuring white silk flowers (with yellow and green stamens), silk green leaves to centre. Section of ribbon on the back folder to contain a small slip of paper. A rectangular white piece of paper, written in black ink ‘Edmund Berkley Lucy’s favour. Which I wore on the 19th of May 1869. The day he was married to Laura Standish??’. Also contains loose flowers and pearls. One of two bridal wreaths (533590).
