Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The New Mills on the River Wensum, near Norwich attributed to John Crome (Norwich 1768 – Norwich 1821). Cottages at the water’s edge on the right, with oriel window, behind and slightly to the right can be seen the top of a windmill over the trees, to the right of the windmill another house. To left of the river an avenue of trees on the riverbank; boat on the water with figures; blue sky with clouds.

Gooden & Fox; date of acquisition by Lord Fairhaven unknown; bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
