Summary
Oil painting on panel, King Richard II (1367–1400), Bitish (English) School, possibly 17th century. Inscribed to left: RICARDO II. Copy of head-and-shoulders portrait of full length in Westminster Abbey. Head and shoulders portrait, facing and gazing at spectator; brown eyes, hair, moustache and small forked beard; he wears a golden bejewelled crown and ermine cape with gold jewelled collar; plain dark brown background.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
