Summary
An oak child's high chair, English, late 17th century, with under-arm baluster supports continuing to block and turned legs joined by ball-turned stretchers, with loose but original foot-rest, the back and seat covered in floral needlework. It is possible that there is a panel back concealed beneath the upholstery.
Provenance
Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Bequeathed to The National Trust in the will of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall dated 28th July 1983. Accepted for ownership by The National Trust in 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992.
