Summary
Cover with moulded mushroom knop, upper half of knop gilt, for sucrier of fluted form (on separate record 509504.1). Printed in underglaze blue with 'Temple' pattern and associated scale and floral border. A gilder’s mark is printed on the underside of the cover; “6” along with the Caughley "S". Made circa 1775 - 1799 by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
