Summary
Sucrier (sugar bowl with lid) and cover of fluted form and with moulded mushroom knop. Printed in underglaze blue with 'Temple' pattern and associated scale and floral border around inner rim and cover. Encircling bands of gilt, upper half of knop gilt. Made by Caughley Porcelain works circa 1775-1799.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
