Summary
This item is a small plain circular saucer to tea bowl (509489.1), raised on foot ring. It is hand painted with flower spray contained in gilt wreath to centre field surrounded by four subsidiary floral sprays. It has a purple diaper border around interior rim with gilt highlighting. Made circa 1775 - 1799 by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
