Summary
These items compile of a small fine plain tea bowl, raised on foot ring and a matching saucer. It is hand painted with flower spray contained in gilt wreath, three subsiduary floral sprigs, floral spray to centre field, and a purple diaper border around exterior rim with gilt highlighting. Made circa 1775 - 1799 by Caughley Porcelain Works.
Provenance
Made in Shropshire circa 1775 - 1799. Owned by Sir Arthur Paul Benthall (1902 – 1992). Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Government in March 1993 following the death of Sir Arthur Paul Benthall in 1992 and allocated to the National Trust for display at Benthall Hall.
