Summary
One of a set of six lead statues depicting ancient Greek and Roman figures; original to the house. A statue depicting Diana, a female figure with her head raised and facing left, wearing a short robe with a quiver of arrows on the right side. Standing with her left arm raised holding a bow, and a buck is reared up on her right side.
Provenance
Original to the house. This statue was installed above the lower parapet of the East Front and was probably supplied by Andries Carpentiere at the same time as two of those on the South Front, which came to Lyme from London in 1732. (taken from Lyme Park guide book, 2000 P.9)
