Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Supposed to be James Scott, Duke of Monmouth and Buccleuch (1649-1685), English School, 1675. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a young man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, in a long dark brown wig and wearing a red cloak with gold fringing, a jewelled clasp at his left shoulder, a dark coloured jerkin, white shirt with voluminous sleeves and rich white lace cravat. A fold of his cloak is held by his right arm which is supported on a ledge.
