Oil painting on panel (oval), King Charles II (1630-1685), British (English) School, early 18th century. Oval. Half-length portrait, turned to the left, facing, gazing at the spectator, in a full-bottomed dark wig, wearing steel breastplate over an embroidered jerkin with a white lace cravat. One of a set of six oval panel paintings, this one depicting Charles II. A bust length standard likeness against a dark background.
