Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Reverend Dr Thomas Legh (1594-1639), British (English) School, circa 1630-1640. A half-length portrait of a young man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, with long, curling brown hair, beard and moustache, wearing a a large black broad-brimmed hat and a black jerkin with slashed sleeves revealing white linen shirt with wide lace-trimmed linen collar. His left hand appears to be tucked into his jerkin.
