A three-quarter-length portrait of a middle-aged woman, seated, turned slightly to the right, head facing, gazing at the spectator, with long brown hair, drawn back, wearing a grey/white satin dress with V shaped low neck, with full three-quarter length sleeves, a chemise beneath A shawl of gold/buff silk wrapped around her left arm and over her shoulder, the arm itself is resting on a table, her right hand holds a piece of paper, which rests in her lap. Dark background.
