Summary
A stand for a late seventeenth to early eighteenth century, oak chest. The chest (LYM.F.093.1) has two half drawers to the top disguised as quarter drawers and three full drawers below, all disguised as half drawers. The drawers are decorated with applied decorative mouldings that form geometric shapes. The stand (LYM.F.093.2) has one drawer disguised as two, a shaped apron to the front and sides and five turned feet. The drawers have brass handles and brass key escutcheons decorated with tool work and punch holes.
