Summary
A yew chest with moulded top, cross banding to top and sides, ornate brass pierced escutcheon with central oval plate chased with foliate scrollwork, the remains of a brass hasp similarly chased. Matching separate stand on four ogee bracket feet, moulded edge, three adjacent drawers with vertical beading strips and brass quatrefoil escutcheons with pear drop handles.
Provenance
Original to house. Accepted by HM Government in Lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, for display at Lyme, 2009.
