Summary
Oil painting on panel, An Unknown Man with a Short Beard, Flemish School, 17th century. Tablet affixed to bottom of frame, inscribed: BEN JOHNSON. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a man turned slightly to left, gazing at the spectator, smiling, short brown hair and small spade beard blue-white ruff, brown-grey sleeve, black cloak, glove held in left hand, his left arm leaning across the bottom of the painting.
