Summary
Oil painting on panel, King Philip II, King of Spain (1527 – 1598), after Titian (Pieve di Cadore 1488/90 - Venice 1576), 17th century. Inscribed: Phellippe K of Spayne. The King is standing, three-quarters left, wearing a black doublet, ribbed with white fur and the Order of the Golden Fleece. His left hand is on his hilt, the right on a red table, against a red background.
Provenance
In the 6th Duke of Somerset's collection at Petworth House at the time of his death in 1748. By descent to the current Lord Egremont. On loan from the Egremont Private Collection
