Summary
Blue and white Delft pill slab with arms of Apothecaries Company in shield shape. Used by pharmacists more often for window display than mixing pastes and powders, hence the holes at top for hanging. After 1750 decorated slabs were less popular and were replaced by white tiles used for pill making. Wooden display base.
