Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A Peacock and Peahen with a Crane, Flamingo, Pelican, and other Fowl, in a Park, by Melchior de Hondecoeter (Utrecht 1636 - Amsterdam 1695) and/or his Studio. In the foreground are a peacock, which squawks back at a penhen, a black crowned crane, a flamingo, and other fowl. A pheasant perches on top of a plinth, while a jay flies down from the right. In the middle ground, a pelican stands not far from an ornamental basin, near other fowl, and a classical-style temple or pavilion can be seen in the background.

Indigenous purchased by the Ministry of Works in 1956 and given to Dyrham Park in 1961
