Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A River Estuary by Jan van de Cappelle (Amsterdam 1626 – Amsterdam 1679). A wide waterway with a view out to sea, seen beneath a grey sky; on the right a small vessel before the wind, laden with passengers, and nearby a fishing boat with two figures; on the left a States Yacht with a boat pulling away and various small craft sheltered by a spit of land; a church and building seen beyond.
