Summary
Pair of Derby white biscuit groups of cupids emblematic of the Elements; Cupid sharpening arrows on a knife grinder, his quiver lying on the ground, whilst a small girl sits beside holding a flaming torch; Cupid climbing a tree to reach a bird's nest while a small winged girl waits below him with birdcages. Maker's mark - incised 48 and a cross. 1790 (circa).
