Jar, porcelain, round and of baluster shape, with a domed lid, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China, Kangxi period (1662–1722), decorated in underglaze blue with a pattern of stylised lotus flowers and scrolling foliage, a band of stylised upright leaves around the rim.

Possibly referred to in the 1754 Belton inventory, room no. 39 (presumed to be the Chapel Drawing Room): ‘Two large blue and white China jars 2 Do. (less)’.
