Summary
One of a pair of Dutch walnut pedestal tables inlaid with marquetry, early 18th-century with Victorian restorations; the shaped top inlaid with flowers and ribbons in different woods and mother-of-pearl; the bulbous hexagonal column and three scrolled legs inlaid with flowers and foliage. Supplied to Gawthorpe Hall in 1852 by William Sutcliffe, a Burnley cabinet-maker and upholsterer who also supplied the set of Dutch walnut chairs, 421932.
