Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Lady possibly Jane Carter, Mrs Richard Vernon, British (English) School, circa 1660-1670. A half-length portrait of a young woman, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, her hair dressed with pearls, she wears drop-pearl earrings and a single strand pearl necklace. She is wearing a white dress and a gold scarf can be seen on her left arm. Inscribed No 17.
