Summary
Punch bowl with monteith rim, cover and ladle, made from tin-plated copper with japanning, standing on a pedestal with domed foot, bucket shaped body with removeable segmented rim, the inset cover with a central spice box with domed cover and round finial, the ladle with a turned wood handle and japanned bowl, probably made by Thomas Allgood, Pontypool, Wales, 1680-1700; the tin-plate has a red Japan varnish in imitation of tortoiseshell, large gilt coat of arms and chinoiserie figures to the body. The bowl is in two parts, the lid in four parts, therefore seven components with ladle.
