Summary
Copper urn, monteith with lid and ladle inside, made in Europe, early 18th century. Lacquered red to look like tortoiseshell, in an imitation of East Asian lacquerwork, and painted with coat of arms and figures in gold. Urn breaks into two pieces, and lid into four, therefore seven components with ladle. Spice holder is in the lid.
