Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Reverend John Graile (1674-1732), British (English) School, circa 1700. A half-length portrait of the Rector of Blickling, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in wig and clerical collar. Arms top right. Label on back of painting says John Graile. Inscription on front: 'Conserves Animae Vitam, Pater Optime, Corpus More Cite disipiet, Nee manst umbra din' [Souls conserve life, Holy Father, ...].
