Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Colonel Harbord Harbord (Harbord Cropley) (?1675-1742) by William Aikman (Forfar 1682 – London 1731), 1729/32. A full-length portrait of an ancestor of Lady Caroline Hobart's husband, the 2nd Baron Suffield who was MP for Norfolk between 1728-1734. He is standing in a outside on a hill, in front of a rock, wearing a full wig, red velvet coat over breast plate and brown tunic, red breeches, pale blue hose and black shoes. There is a church or cathedral in the distant landscape, below right.
