Summary
Oil painting on canvas, An Unknown Girl, possibly Sarah Jennings, Duchess of Marlborough (1660-1744) by Jan Baptist Gaspers (Antwerp c.1620 - London 1691), signed lower left, 1690. A half-length portrait of a young girl, turned slightly to the right, head inclined to the left gazing at the spectator wearing a brown dress with white chemise, ermine trim. Two strands of pearls. Long brown hair. Marked in orange lower left: '620'. Identified as Sarah Jennings on gilt label on frame.
